EGU 2018. Vienna, Autria. 8-13 of April. Session GM1.6/EOS19: Geodiversity and geoheritage: pending and emerging issues and challenges. (co-organized)
As it was advertised in our last Heritage Stones Newsletter, our working group is now part of the IUGS International Commission for Geoheritage. As such, we have organized a common session on Geoheritage for the next EGU 2018 in Vienna. This session has one specific objective regarding our natural stones and their relation with heritage. Please, see the information below. We invite you to submit your abstract and be present at the meeting. As it is a common practice for our working group, a selection of contributions will be published in a Special Issue of a high impact factor journal (see publications from EGU 2017 in Geoheritage, coming on online first these days: https://link.springer.com/journal/12371)
Please find attached and below the elements of announcement of our EGU session on Geodiversity and Geoheritage.
The deadline to submit an abstract is 10 January 2018, 13.00 CET. Regarding early career scientists (PhD students, young doctors), the EGU can provide financial support to come at Vienna but you need to submit your abstract for the 1st December 2017.
We would appreciate if you make this circular accessible to other colleagues from your network who might be interested in participating at the EGU2018 GM1.6/EOS19 Session.
